On Paul’s second missionary journey is when he visited Ephesus. God was working in a mighty way and the whole region was exposed to the gospel as a result of his efforts. It was during the two years Paul spent in Ephesus when the churched of that city was born. Fast forwarding a few decades later, John is on the island of Patmos and receives a word from Christ to share with the church of Ephesus. They have left their first love. The main message for us today from this text is to love God above everything else!
