“Confessions from quarantine housework – I dusted once. It came back. I’m not falling for that again; My daughter was whining about her chores. She asked if she needed to vacuum the whole apartment. I said, “No, just do the floor;” What do you call that day when you finally do all the chores and work you’ve piled up? Tomorrow; Do you know what chores really are? They are really the things parents hate doing so they make their children do them instead; Why does it take southerners so long to do their chores? Because slavery is illegal.” One of my chores was checking the mail. Every day when I got home from school, I’d go to the mailbox and check the mail. Rarely did I ever get any mail, but when I did it made me feel super special. When is the last time you wrote a letter or a card? With the rise of technology, and the usage of phone calls, text messaging, voicemails, and emails, it’s likely, you might not be able to remember the last time you wrote one. Likely, most people these days write simple basic cards for a wedding, baby showers or birthdays. In the ancient world, however, if you could not communicate with someone in person, then the best way to talk to them was through writing a letter. John’s letter to Gaius is about Christian hospitality!
