It’s the Sunday past thanksgiving, and I’m sure there are a few things on your mind, but one that’s climbed to the top is, “I ate way too much, and it’s time to go on a diet and start exercising.” Be honest, how many of you felt miserable after thanksgiving? Bro, I’m not going to go into detail, but your boy was miserable, and I was at the altar of the bathroom vowing to God I’d never eat like that again! Fun fact, one of the best forms of exercise is walking. Health experts claim we should walk 10,000 steps a day. Just so you know, that’s about 5 miles. If you walk a mile in around 20 minutes, it will take you at least an hour and a half to an hour and forty minutes. I’m sure you’re thinking, when am I going to find an extra 1.5 hours a day? Yeah, the secret is walking for 30-45 minutes a day on an incline. Nonetheless, if you can average 10k steps a day, you’d burn at least 500 extra calories. Whether you try walking for you mental, physical, or spiritual health, it will work, but back in biblical times it was the most common forms of travel. In Luke 24, two disciples are walking down the road to Emmaus and meet the resurrected Jesus.
I cycled across America in 30 days and wrote a book about it! Check it out: https://www.amazon.com/Coast-Spiritual-Lessons-Bicycle-Seat/dp/1683147766
