Have you ever been on a road trip that seemed to last for eternity? There’s nothing worse than becoming fatigued while traveling in a car or on a plane. Have you ever flown across America? Five hours, depending on circumstances, can seem like five days. Have you ever driven across America? Three days can sometimes feel like three months. Have you ever road your bicycle across America? Trust me, 30 days sometimes felt like three years! The key to enduring long distance traveling is to set goals along the way. Of course I had a goal of cycling every mile of every day, but peaking at Emory Pass and making it to Texas were key mental achievements that gave me renewed stamina. If I could make it to those landmarks, then I already cycled across America, in my mind at least. Many people start reading the Bible without such goals, but our psalm today is about the halfway point. It’s an anonymous psalm delivering God’s universal invitation to praise Him!
I cycled across America in 30 days and wrote a book about it! Check it out: https://www.amazon.com/Coast-Spiritual-Lessons-Bicycle-Seat/dp/1683147766
