Abraham, Moses (Heb. 3:1-6), and David are often the most cited characters of the Old Testament, and rightly so. They are mentioned throughout the torah, prophets and psalms, and highlighted often in the New Testament. Abraham was the founding member of Israel with God calling him away from his home country to begin a new adventure. David was the man after God’s own heart who resided as King of Israel, typifying a greater King to come. But, Moses, he was the Lawgiver by receiving God’s Word from Mount Sinai and delivering it to the people of God. Moses was the Redeemer by heeding God’s call to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt. Moses was the deliverer always aiding the Israelites in the wilderness journey and leading them up to the land of promise. Certainly, the life of Moses points us to a greater prophet named Jesus Christ!
