In 1 Peter 2:4-5, the author uses a metaphor to describe Christ as the living stone, and His followers as living stones. Christ was rejected by men, but preciously chosen by God (2:4). Christ followers are presented as His living stones. We are built up like a temple and holy priests who offer sacrifices accepted by God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
